EarthPol Wiki

For specific details regarding SiegeWar, such as distances, points amounts, schedules, and costs, please see the SiegeWar details page. These are kept on a separate page in case the development team has to make changes to these values for reasons such as balancing.

Claimed areas cannot be destroyed during sieges. Towny PVP protections are disabled in a siege zone.

Participation Requirements[]

Peaceful Status[]

  • If your town or nation is peaceful, you cannot participate in sieges.
  • Verify your peaceful status by doing the /t command. If you see "(Peaceful)" when viewing the output, your town or nation is peaceful.
  • To change this status, do /sw town togglepeaceful

Nation Rank[]

  • If you do not have a SiegeWar nation rank, you will receive war sickness in a siege zone.
  • Private
    • Can participate in sieges and score points
  • General
    • Can grant and remove SiegeWar nation ranks
    • Can initiate a siege
  • /n rank add [name] [rank]

War Sickness[]

  • Status effect received when you are not eligible to participate in a siege.
  • Mining Fatigue and Nausea effect applied to the player while they are in the siege zone.

Economic Costs and Warchests[]

Costs[]

  • Sieges cost in-game money to start.
  • Amount is determined by the amount of chunks claimed by the enemy town.
  • You must deposit the required cost into your nation bank prior to placing the banner.
    • Example: If a town has 100 chunks and it costs 8g per chunk to siege the town, it will cost 800g to initiate the siege.

Warchests[]

  • In Conquest sieges, this money is a 'deposit' paid by the attacking nation. If the attacking nation wins the siege, the warchest is returned to the nation bank. If the defending town wins the siege, the warchest is recovered by the defenders.

Starting a Siege[]

  1. Create a banner. It can be any color except white (white banners are used for surrendering)
  2. Approach the enemy town.
  3. Place the banner outside the enemy town. Sieges can only begin on certain days of the week -- it will not work if you do this outside the allowable days. See SiegeWar Details
  4. The siege will now have begun. You will be able to accumulate points during the next battle session. Points can be accumulated by killing enemy players in the siege zone or by gaining banner control.
    • /swa nextsession -- Tells you when the next upcoming battle session is.

Gaining Banner Control[]

  • Upon getting within the banner control radius, you will begin a banner control session. On EarthPol, staying on the banner to gain points is colloquially known as "capping" or "capping the banner"
    • You must stay within the radius for the entire duration of the banner control session in order to gain banner control and be added to the banner control list. Each player must do this individually to be added to the banner control list.
    • Upon gaining banner control, your side will begin to accumulate points every 20 seconds for each player on the banner control list.

Reversals and Counterattacks[]

  • Counterattacks: Killing a player on the banner controlling increases the amount of points received for the kill by the counterattack booster percentage.
  • Reversals: Taking back banner control from the side that already has will cause the subsequent banner control points from that point forward to be multiplied by the reversal bonus.

Siege Balances (Winning/Losing)[]

  • The siege balance begins at 0 points.
    • Attackers will add to the siege balance (add points)
    • Defenders will subtract from the siege balance (remove points)
  • A negative siege balance means defenders have won.
  • A positive siege balance means attackers have won.

Aftermath[]

Plunder[]

  • Upon losing a siege, the losing town is open for plunder.
    • Place a chest outside the losing town once the siege is over.
    • The winning town will be able to take gold from the losing town's bank. For the specific amount, see SiegeWar Details.

Invade[]

  • Invasions allow for a town to be "captured" into another nation.
    • Towny permissions will not be affected - griefing will not be enabled.
  • Place a non-white banner outside the town after a siege to invade it.
  • After invading, you will be able to set an occupation tax using /n set occupationtax. For occupation tax maximums, see SiegeWar Details.
  • Nation capitals cannot be invaded.

PVP Kit[]

The server's PVP specifications are the following:

  • Netherite & Diamond Pot PVP
  • End Crystals disabled server-wide.
  • TNT Minecarts disabled within siegezones.
  • Netherite exists within the server, but can be difficult to obtain. Both diamond and netherite armor is used in sieges.
  • Golden Apple and Ender Pearl cooldowns
  • Totems of Undying and Enchanted Golden Apples are obtainable, but are non-renewable and extremely rare.
    • They are not frequently used as part of a SiegeWar PVP kit.
